In her latest music video katy perry was totally inspired by
Egyptian. The song is called 'Dark horse' and was officialy published on the 20th february 2014.
The Greeks worshiped a goddess of beauty which was ‘Aphrodite’
that identified her with the ancient Egyptian goddess ‘Hathor’. Hator was the
goddess of sky, love, beauty, joy, motherhood, foreign lands, mining, music and
fertility.
With the lyrics and production of the music video Katy Perry
is sending out the message of all the above. She tackled all of these as she
imitates the actual goddess by the clothing, makeup, accessories and even
moves.
- Eye of Horus Papyrus
This is an ancient Egyptian symbol which reflects protection,
royal power and good health. In the first scenes you can notice how she
delivered her inspiration very well as she applied the symbol as her make-up
and even in the props.
- Outfit
In the next scenes Katy Perry is featured with a stunning
outfit that is inspired by Egyptian art and culture from top to bottom; Hair, make-up,
jewelry and dress. You can also notice the posture of how she’s standing that
is giving that feeling of a powerful goddess.
- Egyptian princess legend
This is another interesting scene as Katy changes her outfit into a costume of a symbolic drawing of the 'Egyptian princess legend'.
There are many other symbolic things that are featured in this music video as props such as pyramid,statues of symbolic animals, Pharaohe etc..I suggest you watch the video yourself !! :)
