Alphonse Mucha

Alphonse Mucha was a Czech  painter that took part of the Art Nouveau movement. He's well known highly because of his outstanding style.

Throughout his life Mucha has created a number of illustrations, advertisements, postcards, and designs. His art looks just like a printed masterpiece.

In his works Mucha embodied the perfection of the female body, all the fine curves and beautiful faces. This perfection of the female figure was done by using very smooth textures and fine thin outlines so that everything is neatly done.

Visually his works looked very graphic as he painted them in fine lines and very few shades. Together this element has created an idea of 2-D and 3-D

Today we still look back at the magnificent illustrations of Mucha as they are very interesting and appealing.

Here are 3 examples of everyday wear that ara influenced by Mucha's prints.

Back in 2013 Anne Sui designed a resort collection for the runway that was inspired by Mucha's floral prints and patterns.

The choice of colours was brilliant as they reflect perfectly the idea behind Muchas paintings.
