Ancient Egyptian inspiration - Jewelry

The ancient Egyptians was fascinated by body adornment.

Jewelry was worn both by men and woman, when wearing jewelry they felt as if they were powerful and important. Earrings, bracelets, armbands, collar pieces, rings and anklets were all commonly worn in every level of society of the Egyptian culture.

When wearing certain jewelry they also felt protected for bad things as they featured sacred symbols such as the snake, scarab and the eye of Horus.

The main 2 materials for the jewelry that were made were copper and gold. Both materials were mined in the deserts.
  • These are all historical ancient Egyptian jewelry

Today's jewelry designs are very similar to that of the Egyptians as they're back in trend. You can easily identify the symbolic style and symbolic religious signs.

Another interesting fact is that the most common piece of jewelry of ancient Egyptians  was the wide collar necklace. This symbolized importance and beauty. The same thing in today's jewelry designs we give a huge importance to the collar necklaces.
